Dear Members of Trump’s CEO Advisory Panel:

President Trump as signed an executive order preventing individuals from several primarily Muslim countries (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen) from entering the United States for 120 days. Already, individuals from these countries have been detained by the Department of Homeland Security at several airports or have had their visas cancelled when attempting to travel to the United States. Some of these individuals hold legal residency (“green cards”) which grant them all the rights of U.S. Citizens save that of voting. Although a Federal Court has stayed the execution of the order, the future prospects of these individuals as well as many others such as “dreamers” are uncertain under Trump’s draconian measures.

Two members of the CEO Advisory Panel have spoken out publicly against this ban, they are Elon Musk of Tesla and Travis Kalanick of Uber. I congratulate them and admire their courage. As of Sunday morning at 8:30 am, the world has not heard your views on the matter of this ban. I hope and trust that you will speak out soon or explain your silence. Perhaps you are fearful of the large orange bird and what he might tweet. Or perhaps you are a quisling, a person who collaborates with an enemy force occupying the land. Or perhaps things are moving quickly and you simply have not had an opportunity to respond.

I sincerely hope it is the last.

Awaiting your response,

Raymond T. Sparrowe, Ph.D.
